The K version and really the K-Chuck (half neck) is far, far, superior in any revolver compared to the backing out mean little Hornet.

Javelina Classic in 22 Hornet I always try to talk them out of it as it is not as reliable as the 218 Bee, 218 Mashburn Bee or the 22 K-Hornet. But usually they insist on the standard 22 Hornet. And 70% of the time I get the gun back in here with the owners saying the brass backs out and locks up the cylinder. There is just too much taper to the case, like the 22 Jet and if everything isn't perfect it will back out. It will work if the cases are absolutely dry of any lube and if the chambers are cleaned out perfectly oil or lube free and if the load is right. But if one of these isn't perfect then you have problems.

One good argument for those who don't reload

is the fact the Std. Hornet fires perfectly in the K-hornet chamber and looses little if any. Plus it fireforms and ejects fine, in my experiences. K-hornet brass would be quite valuable for resale. How many .22 Hornets can a guy fire at $1 a shot for factory ammo anyway?! I've not tried the .218 Bee in a Revolver but it worries me some. You and Huey say it works so that's good enough for me. I'd think they too would benefit from using the improved version.

I still think whomever buys that rig should drop another buck fifty and have you re-chamber to K-Hornet. Money way ahead. I got Hornet to work in a K-frame but I had to back way, way, off and keep greasy fouling funk away.

the 218 Bee always works as does the 218 Mashburn bee

and the K-Hornet. The regular Hornet is the only one that gives us problems.
