Now one thought ran through my mind, could this be rechambered in 401 GNR? Hmm. To me, kind of a powerhouse of sorts.

I kind of like Gary's thought on high velocity bullets for game. In the years past the big emphasis was on heavy weight bullets.

the same as the 44 Magnum and it is a 6 shot so it shouldn't be a problem. Should be prefect for the 401 GNR and give the gun the same power of the 44 Mag with less recoil.

how has the 401 performed on game animals? Just curious, so to speak.

from Montana Bullet Works. It is the 38-40 bullet and works great on large deer size critters and cow elk size animals.

prototype, blew right through, twice! Another fellow later ran some Serria .41 Mag. projectiles through a .401" sizer and shot a nice hog, forget his name but it performed perfectly. The 200 gr. is close to 1600 fps. I shot a 230 gr. cast at 1500, that's my choice for hunting. The ballistic coefficient of the bullet is much better than a .44 Mag. and 240 gr.
