Reeder Custom Guns - Brass thieves

With the shortage of 510GNR brass, I checked my stash for any empties: One box of 50 empties with 3 missing...

Back in the day, before the dies arrived, I had purchased four 50rd. boxes of loaded 350gr. LBTs from Larry Kovach @ Cartridge Performance Engineering, and the 315gr. RN bullets for practice handloads. Not a cheap purchase. Figured 200 pcs. would be plenty. These are head stamped "510GNR CPE".

Tracked down the 3 missing brass to 3 "buddies", who asked to shoot the 510 Hunter, each had taken a souvenir from the experience without any thought... Doesn't rank up there with Grand Theft, but a hell of a way to show gratitude for the opportunity. None of the three see any problem. Guess I need to be more careful turning my back on "friends".

A few years back me and some buddy's took my 50 to the strip mines and one buddy showed up with a couple girls, they each shot it a couple times and he gave them the shells they shot. He seen no problem with it. I even remember him saying "sure take the empties, he doesn't care".... oh I cared

Four of us shot 50 rds. At some point they swiped the 3 and closed the MTM before I noticed. I didn't discover the missing brass until I sized and deprimed weeks later. Called all involved and they readily admitted to it...2 teenagers and an adult. No offer to return it, 44M, 308, who would care, but this was custom headstamped brass...now scarce as hen's teeth.
