Africa Smiled

Africa smiled
A little
When you left.
"We know you,"
Africa said,
"We have seen
And watched you,
We can learn
To Live
Without you,
But
We know
We needn't
Yet."

And Africa smiled
A little
When you left.
"You cannot
Leave Africa,"
Africa said.
"It is always with you
There inside your head.
Our rivers run
In currents
In the swirl
Of your thumbprints.
Our drumbeats
Counting out your pulse,
On the coastline,
The silhouette of your soul."

So Africa smiled
A little
When you left.
"We are in you."
Africa said.
"You have not
Left us,
Yet."

A poem by Bridget Dore

So very true...I feel it often.

I don't know how someone can go to Africa to hunt

and not want to go back again. I have been there 14 times now and are really looking forward to next year and my next Africa hunt. To go to an exotic place like Africa with some of your best friends and hunt, how could you not want to go back. Colleen's Africa hunt is 17 days away and she is looking forward to it too.

In 2017 I had a small health issue and didn't hunt at all but I had a great time watching good friend Larry Farley experience Africa for the first time and take some great African trophies.

African gets in your blood and and stays with you as long as you are alive.

"One more time..."
