I will lube them by hand before I go to the range.

Fun stuff. I am looking forward to some range time with it.

Unique opportunity after a decade, have fun!

I had no bullets but found a .40 cal. .401" cast bullet worked pretty well loaded "backwards" with the truncated nose pointing back into the case. I basically loaded "blanks" with a bullet poked in the case end and placed them into the chamber one at a time to shoot my target groups.

I got 4-5" 5-shot groups at 33 yds. The "backward" .40's hit dead on the butt ends with no instability I could tell. The gun was on old Colt DA Navy 1903 Second Issue. It has not spoken in quite a while and it was a real hoot to hear it go BANG!

what is the base case?
