Creedmoor, what's in a name?

Curiosity about the name led to a Wikipedia search. Great history, too bad the name is being used to sell a fairly useless line of cartridges today.

Interestingly, the Creedmoor Rifle Range opened on Long Island, NY on June 21st, 1873, site of significant historical international rifle competitions, then closed in 1907, and in 1912 became the Creedmoor "Psychiatric" Center.

Nowadays, "Creedmoor" attached to the latest designs in rifle cartridges could seem to denote possible insanity.

I just buy what I like and pass on what I don't want. As Gary pointed out yesterday, I'm just now catching up to 1900 era cartridges. But, don't need to validate myself by bashing what others like. The world is big enough for all of our cartridges, old or new...
