For hog hunting near you? Was looking to maybe meet up with you when I was down in Venice. Our hosts ended up with the flu! We were down there for only a day and a half as we ran out of there before we got sick! Lol

Yes, the best job hunting is on private land

$150-$250 per day plus $150-$200 per hog no matter the size. The wife and I went to a parcel, thick palmetto, saw a few, mostly sows with young. The wife shot at a "nutted" boar, clean miss, I tracked him for over 100yds., No blood, nothing.

Public land is a crap shoot, the county was bragging that "47 hogs were shot last year on public land with over 1,000 hunters participating." Mostly in the Myakka Wildlife Area.

We are putting our money on the HHC in TN Oct. 3rd-6th. Lots of friends, tons of hogs and the price is right, including the processing.

Hope to see you there!

"best not hunting" , not "job", damn spellcheck

inland, just north of Orlando and around Lake Okeechobee.

Rick is right. Your best bet is our HHC in October

The hogs are plentiful, around $700 and that includes your lodging, food and 3 days with good friends. Plus for a little more they will cut it up and package it. It is hard to beat it. Like Rick said Florida is a crap shoot. Millions of acres with heavy underbrush, loaded with bugs and snakes and most of the hogs you see are little in the 70 lb range. They are there but you gotta be smarter than they are. The guys that book you get paid whether you see a hog or not. So they are not going out of their way to make sure you get a good hog. every hog I have seen come out of Florida was maybe 85 lbs. Just little piggies, no "wild boar" to them. I hunted in Florida a lot when I was there and mostly saw gators and snakes, very few hogs. They are there but it is hunting in a green hot bug and snake infested jungle. Not my kind of hunting.

Amen...very deceptive BS down here, I'll be in TN,
