I survived! My Misfit adventure into dirt bike racing.

Thanks to the Misfits that gave encouragement! I did not get my decals ready to represent but it was probably a good thing. I made a relatively poor showing at the Nationals, but had fun and survived. The Observed Vintage Trials is more demanding than I thought. Made worse when you fall over and flail around. I get tired very quickly, not sure if it's my health, or I'm just a sissy. An adrenal dump and I hit a wall, have to recover. Trials was (6) courses, run 3X each but not in order. You can't touch your foot down or it's a negative point. Falling ass over tea kettle is 5 neg. points, I found out. lol. I did "clean" 7 sections with no points. I'm not sure where I placed out of 50-60 people. Then, Immediately, I had to run to get into the Cross Country race. A 5.2 mile run through all sorts of terrain, four laps or 60 minutes. I crashed the first lap, running up a 20' embankment, the bushes reached out and grabbed a handlebar, pulling me into the morass. That's bad enough, but I had 50 screaming racers running up my butt fighting for the 3' pathway. Dragging the bike out and back down the hill, I had to catch my breath, before kicking 20 times to restart. I crashed out again the second lap, hitting a small tree and drowning out the motor, fouling a spark plug. It took me 20 minutes to change out the red hot plug to one that finally fired by using full choke and full throttle, with about 100 kicks. But I made it back to a checkered flag, and actually, technically, finished. Many did not as I passed downed riders and blown up bikes. I got my butt handed to me by 75 yr. old "Senior" class and Women racers too. Still, the people were so nice and it was a fantastic experience.

Thanks to the Misfits who emailed me with tips and tricks. Guns are so much safer (!) and easier on your health! A firearm match is so much safer in comparison, but you'd never hear that.
