Just watched a g2 pachmayr grip and forearm go for $200 on eBay! It was used. Am I missing something?

Yea they don’t make them anymore

in them. We haven't sold but one or two sets in 2 years. Back when the Contender first came out the hard wood grips were horrible with a hot round like the 357 Herrett or 44 Magnum. When the Pachmayrs came out they were great, but these days with the soft rubber factory grips there is no need for the Pachmayrs, plus they were heavy and the checkering was rough on the palm of the hand. There is no benefit to them over the factory rubber grips and forend. Lagging sales could have caused them to be dropped. My humble opinion as usual.

Their stellar feature, often unused or overlooked is

they have a set of swivel studs already mounted for sling or bi-pod. The grip itself has a shorter reach than the factory grip but not a real issue on the G2. IT is on the Encore for me but I know you can get around that with technique. Also if your reach is closer, so is your knuckle to whack!
