the Africa hunters are somewhere out over the Atlantic

flight back to the U.S. I always start planning my next hunt. I am sure somewhere over the Atlantic Colleen will be thinking how she can kick my ass on some more of my record book animals as she did this time. But sometime in the next couple of months I will have the time to sit down and see what animals I need to better myself on. There is a lady handgun hunter who keeps kicking my ass and taking my top 3 record book critters. It is time for me to return the favor. Of course she goes to Africa 3 or 4 times a year so it is hard to beat her.

I blame John Abraham, our friend and African PH for getting me on this record book kick. My very first African animal was a Red Duiker which went #1 and stayed here for 10 years or more. That got me hooked.

I have taken 7 Gemsbok because I kept seeing one bigger than the last one. I even shot 2 at one time. One went #1 and the other #4.

The same goes for Blue Wildebeest and Impala. I wonder sometime if I have lost what little bit of brains I still have.

Colleen's Cape Buffalo is a monster as is her Kudu. Both are the biggest I have ever seen so we shall see when the final measurements come out in 60 days. It is a healthy bit of competition but it is also never ending.

Also out of the 12 hunters, I don't have any pics or info about what 8 of them did so there may be some critters in there that have kicked my butt too. So it never ends. The good thing is all the meat goes to the villagers who are always in a starvation situation and never have any meat unless a group of hunters come to their area. And Colleen's Cape Buffalo, Kudu and Eland should feed a village for a month.

Thank the Lord the next hunt in Africa is a year away so maybe I will calm down a bit by then. And then again..... maybe not.
