Ruger #1 22 PPC - Speaking of Inherently Accurate Guns...

Ok, that was left handed bate...

Quite a few years back, I loaned a military friend $500. He left with me a new condition Ruger #1 in 22 PPC and three sets of dies. Hornady, Lee Collet and Redding Micrometer Dies to be exact as collateral.

It's been in back of my safe for 11+ years without a word from him. Last I heard he was in the hospital and in poor condition. Bad habits had taken their toll.

Don't like to acquire anything in this fashion, but suppose the gun is mine. Decided to give it a try and the silly thing shoots 1/4-1/2" groups with a cheap scope I stuck on it. Guess it deserves better, so ordered a nice Burris for it.

Remains to be see if I'll enjoy it or wonder his fate every time I break it out.
