While I'm working on getting my shoulders

healthy again, I've been doing some shooting with some guns that have been sitting around idle for far too long. There's something just plain relaxing and enjoyable about shooting some mild wadcutter loads in an old K-38, as well as some mild SWC loads in the .44 Special. Both guns are a pleasure to shoot and very accurate. Made me think about the number of young shooters who have no idea what they are missing out on when they believe they must own the biggest and fastest. They can't hit the barn if they're standing inside it because they never shoot more than 3 cylinders full of full house loads and quit because they can't stand the recoil. The idea of learning to shoot accurately with mild loads and occasionally firing warm loads is something that they fail to consider. I'm certainly not going to neglect those old guns, especially that K-38 again. Accurate and enjoyable guns are a pleasure to shoot.
