Reeder Custom Guns - Ruger 10mm-40 S&W Blackhawk...

Decided to try one of these a few months ago. Schedule has slowed progress, but finally getting there. Slicked up the action, installed Wolf Springs, Belt Mountain Base Pin and some nice Claro Walnut grips. Long seating of bullets allow 180s/1400+ fps and 200s/1300 fps. Groups 1-2" in informal chronographing sessions...

Or a G2 12"+2 braked barrel. I think the brake would help the flippy recoil.

To rechamber to 38-40 WCF and 401 GNR. I underestimated these rounds in a full sized gun. I've easily reached 1200 fps with a 220 grn 10mm bullet. Long seating may give me a bit more. That crowds hot 44 Special loads and that's a pretty good endorsement.

Longshot Powder is the key here. Small amounts provide near "magnum" performance. GT Bullets expand well at this velocity. Expand from dime to penny diameter.

I'll likely not take it Cape Buffalo Hunting, but very useful for lots of game.

Stick it in a magazine and blow the side off an auto. Too long to fit. I like being able to seat longer to lower pressure in the little .40 SA.
