Project #2 - 30 Carbine Blackhawk...
This gun and the 10mm-40 Blackhawk posted below have drug on too long. I vowed to get them both going this week.
This gun received the same action work, springs and base pin as the 10mm-40. Barrel gap on the 10mm-40 was .004" and the 30 Carbine came in at .0035". Prefer tighter, but happy with this on factory guns.
Throats were .309" so bullets were sized the same. Bore slugged .3082" or as close as I could measure.
The cylinder was generously long, so the 115 grn GT Hollow Points were seated to a COAL of 1.742". Powder used was Unique as is generally what I start with using cast bullets.
I loaded and fired 12 rounds at 25 yards. 11 of the bullets made one ragged hole under 1". You can bet the single flyer was my poor marksmanship.
