The 44-40 is a great cartridge for the Handloader using Starline Brass. Cylinders can be found in 44 Special and are easily fit to the gun.
My own 44 Special New Frontier has two 44 Special and two 44-40 Cylinders for it.
These guns won't be going down in price or getting easier to find.
