.357 is a fine cartridge. I have two Marlins in that caliber and they are great shooters. The first one is an 1894SS and the other is a 1894CBLTD 24" octogon barrel. The latter is money in the bank. I cannot express how much I love my Dan Wesson pistol pack either.
