Reeder Custom Guns - gary I noticed a while ago that Brownells was selling

pre-made cylinders and barrels. Do you get your parts from them?

This way I know we are getting the quality our customers need and expect. Here are some pics of our shop with the cylinder blanks and barrel blanks.
First some of the equipment, mills and lathes. We have added 3 new lathes and 1 new mill since the pics were made. It is a machine shop, so don't expect clean and neat.

Several other lathes. The straps on a couple of them were to move the lathe a bit over to one side to give us a bit more room.We have 2 full machine shops so all this equipment is not crammed into one place. We have over 3000 square feet of machine shops.

After looking at that impressive array of machines, tools, parts and talent to use them all properly, I am amazed that the cost of a Gary Reeder handmade pistol is still under $3000. Conversions are even less which is really amazing. Beautiful shop and beautiful works of art in guns. God has truly blessed the Reeder clan.

to work hard at it, sometimes harder than we think possible, and He does the rest. If you see a man on a mountaintop, he didn't fall there...

Lot's of folks don't seem to understand that principle.

anyone in our machine shop as most expect polished floors and equally polished lathes and mills and it ain't happening. Just trying to allocate time to stop all the machines and clean up is hard. And most people believe we use CNC machines and just push a button. And that ain't so either. If all our guns were just alike then we could just CNC the parts but every gun is different. That is why they call them custom guns. And every gun and every part are hands on work. No CNC at all. These lathes and mills are used 8 to 10 hours a day 6 days a week and there is seldom a time when all of these machines are not running. I had to come in early before the guys got here to take pics of the machines. And like I mentioned above I have added 2 lathes and another mill since most of these pics were taken. So the secret is out and now you know.

The .45 ACP cylinder Gary built for my Vaquero is so darn accurate I can no longer blame the gun for my shooting.

It is a custom from Bowen that was left to me by a very dear friend after he died. John Taffin and I did his funeral and after the funeral the son came up to me and said, "Daddy wanted you to have this." It is a treasure.

Some years ago I was testing some ammunition that a factory had sent me. It was very hot and I had fired 5 rounds. When I went to eject the empties I had to pound one shell out of the chamber. It had bulged the bolt notch!

I sent the gun to Gary and he built a new cylinder for it. And it still shoots better than I can hold it. My old eyes don't always see the sights clearly anymore, and the flyer is my fault .. but the gun can shoot!
