Is there a way to put a scout type scope mount on a Winchester 94? It is late 1970s model. I assume it would have to be drilled and tapped?

Non drill option

I was thinking of a scout scope for one of my 94's and ran across this a while back: www.mod94scoperail.com. Two different non-drill options. Might be a way to do it without altering the gun if that's an issue. I just wonder how solid of a mount it would be...

Thanks Marco , been wanting to put a red dot or scout scope

Skinner has a couple of options for mounting reflex sights in the dovetails. I have something similar on a Browning Low Wall traditional hunter.

Turnbull solution...

The only thing I can afford from Turnbull is his dandy Fastfire mount that fits into the dove tail of the 94's barrels rear sight and give a base to mount a Bushnel Fastfire sight....$60

if you can't find one, we have drilled and tapped

quite a few and have built red dot sight bases that hook up to the rear sight slot.

I like the Fastfire...

...mount system better than the scout scope on my Winchester...scope weight just made the rifle too "clunky"for me. I have Gary's Fastfire mount on my single six and it is a beauty.

The old leupold eer mount looks really good

It mounts in the rear site dove tail and drill mounts to the front strap. Find a mount and a strap and you can always go back to original. They even made one with a rear sight attached to the mount.
