Tell them to to get slaughter house smell and don't play with Gila Monsters, rattle snakes, side winders or scorpions. I had idiots working forme that did and paid the price. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. One dude suffered a long time messing with a monster. Deathly ill.
Thank you, Sid. What is "slaughter house smell?"

There are some large feedlots in the area so with the wind blowing the wrong direction it can be quite pleasant if you're not from a farming or ranching background. Nice town, nice base that goes out of its way to take care of its Airmen. Coming from Italy will be a little bit of a let down scenery wise but they'll adapt. KT
Thanks, KT. Much appreciated!

I was indisposed. Last night I blacked out hit my head and got 9 staples put in. Kept for observation. No concussion. Just a hard head. Thanks again. I love where it is green especially after spending so much time in the middle east. I think the desert is beautiful. They need to visit Cloudcroft/Reidoso. Check out the quarter horse races. Beautiful up there like Oregon/Washington.
Thanks so much, Sid. I hope

years ago, but our congressional delegation got it a bit of a reprieve, for how long I am not certain.
Located on the Great Plains it is bordered by the cities of Clovis to the east and Portales to the south
While I do not believe there is an actual slaughterhouse there it does have numerous large dairy operations, thus the smell.
Primarily a farm community with large acreages in alfalfa and silage crops to support the dairy industry. Peanuts are also a large crop produced in the area.
Climate is generally mild, but will top 100 in the summer, occasionally a tornado and a sever snowfall about once every 5 years
Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, numerous lakes within 100 miles or less. Mountains with skiing and good hunting less than 200 miles.
State college ENMU - Portales just south of the air base.
Crime rates about average.
While there be sure and visit the Norman Petty Studio.
