another good Governor. This one a Democrat

Louisiana's Gov signed the heartbeat law today. No abortions after a heartbeat is detected. That is great. 200,000 babies are aborted every year. I sent a letter (that will probably end up in a trash can) to our elected officials with a recommendation.

Lower the requirements for couples to adopt a baby and lower the cost. I understand it is around $20,000. Drop that to bare minimum, enough to cover the paperwork. Offer a pregnant lady that is planning on an abortion, $2500 plus free hospital delivery cost, to have the baby. There are thousands of couples that can't have kids that would love to adopt but can't swing the high cost of adoption plus all the rigid requirements to adopt. There are no valid reasons to have the high cost to adopt except it is going into a shyster lawyer's pocket. And some states won't let a couple adopt if there are guns in the house. Another idiot rule. Drop the rigid rules and lower the costs and the problem is solved. At least in my mind it is.

A Governor who done a good thing maybe...

But a "Good Governor" is a stretch on him. Louisiana is very conservative except for Orleans Parish.

It's a good thing that I agree with, but it's just survival mode for him.

Again Huey, you are on point.

make one good decision.
I’m not very good with words and not sure this will make sense but here it goes.
It is sad that we live in a time and place where we get all excited when someone does the right thing! Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad he did it, but I’m more pissed at those who choose evil than I am excited about those who choose good. Simple to me.

But, we all agree the Heartbeat Bill is a good thing...

Gov that signs the heartbeat bill is a good guy.

Indeed, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Doesn't matter who does a good thing, it's still a good thing. Let's stay positive.

I've been in Louisiana 54 years and have a fair idea...

Of what goes on here. While I agree the Heartbeat Bill is a good thing, we have very different ideas on what makes a friend.

Innocent lives can be saved...

its criminal. Its just as bad trying to become a foster parent. The requirements are so horrendous, it takes forever to get past each step in the process and they make it WAY more difficult than it needs to be...all the while babies and children of all ages suffer, in many cases in horrible conditions while good potential parents/foster parents are begging for the opportunity to give these young ones a better chance in life. It's really a tale of sadistic red tape and ineffective policy.

Amen Gary!
