Does any one have experience with diamondback AR's? There is one on sale at my local shop for $430. I am not really an AR guy but the price is right and I was just curious about the gun or the company if any one has experience with them. Thanks in advance.

Mil-Spec, which means they were built to military specs so an armorer can just drop a piece in and get it back out in the field. So for all practical purposes they are all the same. One may have nicer stock & forend or a special flash hider and so on, but again, for all practical purposes they are all the same. If you spend more than $800 on one you are screwing yourself.

Good to know

stuff about you have to have a special chambering to shoot 5.56 and 223. The 5.56 is loaded with a different powder to a hotter level to function a full automatic weapon. The Colt and the Bushmaster AR-15s (the Bushmaster wasn't called the AR-15) were everywhere in the late 60s and early 70s and with Viet Nam going on the actual military 5.56 wasn't readily available so we all shot 223 in there and there has never been any problems doing so. Just like some folks say you shouldn't shoot 45 Long Colt in a 454 Casull or 38 Spl in a 357. Total BS.

yep, I hunted groundhogs with just 223 in my

colt many years ago, every summer and shot just plinking with the Remington 223. Never any problems and my Colt was very accurate. Wish I still had it.I have a home made one now and it is super accurate with soft point 223.
