Got to spend the day at the range! Took the G2 30GNR and an Encore 356GNR as that is what I had rounds for. 356 shoots fantastic and is a real pussycat with a brake! The 30GNR G2 was shot forty times with .30-30’s to fireform brass! Basically one hole at 40 yards and 2-3 inches at 100. Definitely hunting good with .30-30 alone!

Took my 356 GNR to Africa in 2018...

Took an Impala at 122 yards with one 180 grn XTP thru the heart.

356 is so easy to shoot!

I’m sure it is the encore frame that is giving me fits though. Will put a wood grip on it and shape it down a bit to get a better reach on the trigger.

My experience with my G2 30GNR carbine was the same

a couple years ago. Accuracy at 35-40yds. was one ragged hole for 40 30-30 rds. Handloaded 150gr. Nosler Accubonds over Varget & 748. Have shot several heads of game with great success. I know it would do well in Africa out to 150-200yds. with proper shot placement. The GNR cartridges work, period.

My biggest surprise today was an old MK V!

Found a beat up .30-06 German Weatherby that was ripe for a project gun. Needs blued, stock refinished, new floorplate, barrel was green and took a BUNCH of elbow grease to get clean! Someone attempted glass bedding long ago and is very ragged! FIRST 5 SHOTS WERE DEAD ON AND TOUCHING AT 100 YARDS. All with an old, fuzzy Bushnell 4-12X scope to boot!

My 7GNR shot so well with fire form loads..

That's what I hunted with last season. I loaded 100 with 7-30 data and made a 2 inch group at 100 yards. But at 50 yards where I could see better the group was about a half inch. My first deer with that gun was shot at more than 175 yards.
