Reeder Custom Guns - Marlin 1894c .357

I bought one of these new last week. The fit of wood to metal and the overall finish is very good. Rifle is handy and works very well. A .357 in a rifle is a significantly more powerful round than in a revolver. I have been shooting it with the factory sights for now. Here is a target (very expensive target material) shot at 50 yards with 140 grain Hornady hollowpoint bullet. I have also shot it with 158 and 180 grain bullets. It feeds SWC cast bullets very well. It is a bit glitchy sometimes with some SWC cast bullets in some cases, as it also shoots .38 Specials. However all JHP seem to be very slick feeding. I believe the Marlin to be more amiable to bullet types and cartridge lengths.

With a 180 gr. loaded with some Lil'Gun the .357 becomes another animal all together. I have even shot some .38 Specials loaded with the RCBS 200 gr. FNGC. They really blow the dobber nests out of the rafters!

Which eased loading. I've dealt with some that fed well with straight walled cartridges, but varied with bullet nose profile too.

Just got one about a month ago and am very impressed with the accuracy and action. Mine has the ghost ring sights which my old eyes can see. My first lever. Kind of hard to load but I hope this improves with use.

Abundant, easily found ammo with a choice between two different cartridges. Light and handy. Plenty of punch for hunting or self defense at sane ranges. Accurate. Able to cycle quickly and with a decent store of ammo in the magazine. Ability to share ammo with any of a number of useful handgun models. A man is well armed with a Marlin .357.

May have’ta git one to see what all the excitement is about!

We have a Rossi M92 clone in .357

All the original M92 chamberings had some taper or neck...
