the listing was that the price was the lowest I`ve seen for his book on the web... I see them for somewhere around $350 and up...
I guess I should read it sometime. Then forward it on.

are these days. He went into the Alaska wilderness with a 9X9 tarp, a coffee pot, a bowl, his hatchet, a mummy sleeping bag and his guns and ammo. He lived on what he shot. Even in a hard snowfall he would put together a lean to and sleep in there during the storm.

Even when he had a buddy with him they shared the tarp.

Another of his camps.

He died in a plane crash in Alaska. It was a year before they found the remains of the plane and some of his guns and gear plus about 30 rolls of film of pictures he had taken on that hunt. We had an Al Goerg Memorial hunt a few years ago and his son Jim Goerg flew down here from Washington to attend the hunt and show me some of Al's guns that were damaged in the crash. His XP-100 in 6mm was pretty beat up from the crash.

His rolling block in 257 Roberts that he called Rollo.

He also had 2 S&W 44 Nagnums with him but someone got to the wreckage before them and stole them.
If you haven't read his book, you have missed a great experience as to how handgun hunting got started.
And it didn't last long...
