I’ve often wondered about the issue of penetration and the 45acp. I switch between a one of Gary’s PDs and a Shield45 cause it’s legal in the 2 states that I spend most of my time in.
I like light weight, small autos. I’ve looked at the current line up of 10mm guns and find LW and small don’t quite fit the 10mm genre.
I have a Colt GM converted to 460 Rowland. Decisive cartridge to be sure! I took a large rambolett at HHC with it and it hits really hard for sure. But it has a comp and is way too large for a CCW. Is a lighter, faster bullet in 45acp of different construction the answer? Like an extreme penetrator or some hot 45acp? Should we carry a solid flat point of some design??Maybe convert a LW commander type pistol into a 45super? Or really change it up and convert a 1911 into a 357sig.
I’m thinking that I’d like to try a lot of these on hogs at HHC....me thinks live flesh and blood would tell us more than the jello shooters.....
What do you think???
