.. look at a Camelbak Military Mule. I've found the I don't need to csrry much for a single day in the woods. I pull out the water bladder and I have just enough for everything I need. The pack is small enough to stay out of the way. I get mine on used Ebay.

Will probably out last any one of us based on the average age on here! I have one of their haversacks for a day in the woods and the Summit Boulder Jct. for overnighters or trips It serves double duty as my bail out bag at work. I also like their accessory bags and belt pouches for organizing stuff. I've gone through a bunch of packs over the years but I believe I purchased my final ones and I like that....

with a pack at my local GS. I needed to tote my daily stuff and possibly my laptop while riding my motorcycle to and from work. Some of my bikes have no provisions for bags or a rack to strap gear onto. On my Triumph I just lash it to the short backrest. The Ducati and Suzuki require me to wear it. I tested it to about 130 mph, LOL.

It is a Drago Gear Altus single-sling pack. It is so easy to put on, take off, with a leather jacket and helmet already on. It is set up for one of those water bladder things and has a velcro holster compartment too. I paid $65 for an OD green version and it has served me well. The zippers and handles are all like new and no fraying anywhere after 3 yrs. of use. Not bad for $65. Still not sure how to use those MOD loopy things correctly. I guess I need to take a class. lol
