Well. Summer is officially here.
This morning after shipping some items out and getting a flat top hair cut from my cute barber I headed north to the club. I shot the TC Contender in 22 WRM and my accurized Single Six.
After the shooting session I took a walk spinning rod in hand to the beaver pond. I wanted to see what might be in it so I made a few casts with a live grub worm on the end of my line.
No fish were biting but the sign that summer is here has manifested itself as to what is biting.
Deer flies.
I got hit on the side of the neck, head and twice on my left hand. Needless to say each area is itchy and puffed up.
In my travels through the Great Plains and Rockies in the summer I noticed that there was a distinct absence of biting insects except near bodies of water like rivers.
Anyways. I may go out with the fly rod after Church in the AM
