When I hit that bull elk a couple of years back another highway patrolman came to the scene and we talked guns for an hour while some morons stole the elk not 100 yards behind us. We thought they were just looking at it. But 4 guys picked him up, pitched him in the truck and rode off, while the patrol car with blue lights flashing was 100 yards from them. Ballsy.
