The Flat Knocker is a good trick. I need to do that on those worthless 230 gr. cast RN. They function fine but often yaw and tumble too or poke on through with little effect. Ditto the .32 ACP FMJ. Only if you could do that to loaded ammo, without danger, cutting or filing might not be a good idea. Paco's .22 tool is cool for that.

I saw some guys filling in HP cavaties with some type of spongy hot glue too. Some special stick that is less dense and rubbery, to mimic the Hornady critical defen$e. My little .380's are a buck fifty each!
