in that chassis. I'm thinking .219 Zipper, .25-35, .30-30, .32-40, .38-55, etc. I know they did a .44 Mag. and .44-40 but they were a bit odd children. That is a loooooong barrel too, not a carbine. It takes a bit of working to get any of those under 1050 fps using crafted handloads so I figure it is for simple noise reduction, not a real attempt to suppress. The sling would indicate a real working rig too, to be carried some distances, not just out of the truck a few yards for a short stalk. All curious cues unanswered, unproven. would be fantastic. A more quiet levergun would be really nice. At a shooters event I tried a Ruger .308 with full power ammo. The sound is not really suppressed but a notable crack sort of projected downrange. The muzzle blast is gone. Nice. But as the powder and gas volumes go up so does can size to contain it. Wall thickness too, so it won't blow out.

Say a .40-.45 pistol suppressor for you auto rigged to pop on a nice .32-20 or .357 lever. The gun gets quieter and the suppressor gets dual duty for one ticket. More fun range time.

IF/WHEN they drop suppressors to plain old 4477 items there will be a raging booming market. Gary will make a killing with his niche fun market. Lots of nice non-typical applications to be discovered.

I think the rifle is an 1893 Marlin with an original Maxim suppressor.

Receiver is deceiving. The first Marlins in 1883 had receivers like a Winchester but definitely a Winny.

The long octagon barrel and thick metal of the TD feature in front of the receiver are odd looking. Also the crescent butt is odd looking on a 94 to me. They had it set up for some long range shooting it seems.

I've got a vintage Winchester 1895 .303 threaded for a Maxim (but not the Maxim). Some small number of people were hanging these on levers back in the day.

less powder and corrosive mercuric primers of the day that the suppressors had a rough time of it. Bulky when affixed and stored in a sock drawer or some place, a recipe for separation.
