companies are coming out with special concept guns. Just like concept cars. If they get enough call for them, they make them. If nobody is interested they quietly drop the idea and deny they ever made any of them. Look at how many concept Broncos have been "accidently" released in pictures and videos. But nobody liked them so they real quick said they were only concept trucks and they hadn't decided on the style truck yet. It's the same thing with guns. A 380 auto revolver is for sure a concept gun as demand for them will be sparse at best. I can think of 5 or 6 concept guns that have been made in the last year or two that never saw the light of day. It is just simple supply and demand. If there isn't much of a demand for them they will not supply that demand.

The firearm market is in a changing phase right now. There are still well over 100 companies licensed to build AR-15s and there is very little demand for them. Tactical items that were extremely in demand 2 years ago are dead in the water right now. Small concealable guns, both pistol and revolver, are what is in demand. Most large companies have put revolvers on the back burner a bit as their money making guns are the small concealable pistols. Again it is simple economics. A good man can put together and test out 30 to 40 semi autos a day whereas that same man will do good to put together 2 revolvers and run tests on them in a day. And large semi autos are not selling well right now either. Most states (free states) are passing concealed carry laws so the small semi autos are what folks are looking at and buying. We have just spent mega bucks buying out 2 companies that specialized in larger 1911s. I know we will have to sit on them for a while until the market turns around. But of the large supply of 1911s we bought we can build some very special guns and they will sell as the glut of semi autos are the standard 1911s. But they will sell as long as we make them special and only release a couple a month.

Revolvers are doing the same. We plan on building some very special revolvers like our El Diablo and our Hog Hunter that sold in the Saturday Sale a few days ago along with some other very special revolvers. But again they will be built only a few a month, no glut on the market.

So things are in a bit of a guessing game right now. Ruger is doing well with a few special revolvers, guns like their new Wrangler. Well made little guns, cheap to build and cheap to buy. So it is a win win situation right now.
