When looking at things you love, don't

forget to tell your pets that you love them. They may not understand the words but they do the tone! We just lost our Tibetan Spaniel of 15 years yesterday. He had not been eating much for several weeks but he had had spells like that and always would come back for more sooner or later. Sunday night he ate a big meal and then started throwing up. Never a good sign. Finally Monday the last time he threw up there was blood and blood clots in the bile. I knew he was in trouble then and finally got in to see a substitute vet who was seeing our regular vets patients. She ran blood tests and told us that he had complete liver failure as well as his kidneys had started to shut down. She also suspected he had a ulcer in his stomach and this was causing a lot of pain. Since it was late on Monday she suggested that we take him home and spend the night with him and bring him back the next morning where our regular vets could take care of him. She did give him anti-nausea and pain shots to help him through the night. We took him in at 0900 and our vet said it was time which we agreed with and said our final goodbyes. My wife held him while they administered the shot and she was the last thing he saw. This has been a difficult two days and my wife is grieving for Cheney but she knows he is better off and not in pain. Don't forget your pets when you give out hugs and I love you's!!
