Reeder Custom Guns - home invasions on the rise. There are 7 stories in the

news this morning about home invasions. All were foiled by the home owner, 5 with AR-15s , 1 with an AK and one with a handgun. Several bad guys dead. The link to all 7 was that each had posted something for sale in the internet a couple of days before. The bad guys came supposedly to look at the item and ended up kicking the door in and getting shot.

Just thought you should know this and if you don't have an AR-15, you might think about getting one. They are cheaper now than they have been in years. Just a thought.

I wonder how the criminals are getting the seller's home addresses? I thought it was pretty common practice to meet at a public place to buy someone else's items for sale. It's good to see AR 15s getting some good publicity for a change.

items can't be moved until sold. Have sold some furniture, tool boxes, heavy tools, etc. I admit to being lucky. Also lived in a retirement community 25 miles out of town.

So, lets say there are guys out here, I'm raising my hand, that are well versed in alot of different aspects of the firearms world, but never really had an interest in the AR/etc craze. But has had the same thinking as you state, their cheapest right now so why not. And,
lets say that the cost of everything he has, is not the cheapest nor most expensive, but would go that route if that was the best route to go. What is a good AR that is reliable, no frills, unless you want it to be, best bang for the buck and the bad guys?

specs. Get one that is factory or Reeder built and not bubbaed in the backyard. Ruger, stag, dpms, Smith, lots of others all built to the same specs. YMMV.

weekend from California and as usual they wanted to go out and do some shooting. Kase came up from Scottsdale as it is his sister and her brood, 6 total. I have 7 AR-15s and Kase brought up a couple of his. As i pulled each of them out of the safe and checked to make absolutely that they were unloaded, I thought about this type question that has come up on here several times. Every one of my AR-15s and one AR-10 are the same. Other than personal feel, there is no difference. I personally like my Armalite AR-15 with the slim forend but there is no real reason for that other than I grew up (so to speak) with Armalites. I have an original Colt H-Bar that feels good although a bit heavier.

The main gist of this is, try a few AR-15s at your local gun shop and go with your gut feeling. Pick the one that feels best to you.
