estate sale years ago. I called Ruger and supposedly there were 5 or 6 made. I kept mine a few years and then sold it to a collector. It has 2 sets of barrels. One in 20 gauge, the other in 45-70. Very well made set.

best gun to start with. I picked one of them up at a custom show. It was a really nice double gun except it was a single trigger and the main reason to have a double rifle is the fast second shot. The single trigger depends upon the recoil inertia of the first shot to set the hammer for the second shot, and if the first barrel had a dud round in it that doesn't go off, you are screwed.

But a “set” of rifle barrels was somewhere around $6000.00. He now does his own on his actions. Sidelocks too if your pockets are deep enough.

Yep, he’s the guy I talked to many years ago!

Checked into a conversion by a guy here in commifornia, before it started becoming a socialist state. Anyways, the cost then was several thousand bucks so didn’t do it based on my Navy enlisted paycheck! Sold that Red Label to my brother and have been trying to get it back ever since!!! Always think it might make a good O/U in .30-06 or there about!
