I remember I had to lathe cut my ACP dies so I could crimp like I wanted to. There was something goofy with the length and the shell holder. They would not turn in the belled or flared case mouth while seating the bullet.
Originally they came out with a "Model of 1988" in .45 ACP/AR, all 5". Factory issue Pachmayr Grips I think, maybe Hogue? Supposed to only make 3,000. It was such a hit they re-issued the "Model of 1989" and offered other barrel lengths. It really pissed collectors, I remember.
