A 1858 Remington clone revolver. Doug has what can be best described as a Brown Bess Indian Trade musket. We have had a ball shooting it. A HUGE flinter, 75 cal.
I have some friends who are truly into that stuff but they would skin you alive trying to trade with them. Too savvy for me. One likes anything antique and another is really into original Sharps etc. (Steve Gent & Richard Hall for Doug's sake) Steve is likely the one of the world's best replicators, I'm not exaggerating. He made (along with too many other things to list) a civil war Bowie from a Snapper Lawn mower blade with proper worn markings and artfully aged etc. I heard of a top collector that was humbled and still does not know it, will never acknowledge. Seems he didn't ask the right questions, just paid big. Who can prove it anyway? I've seen his built stuff on magazine covers.
I've got a shortened Brown Bess. It's a LOT of fun.

I think I have a photo somewhere of Mr. Denning apprehensively shooting it at an HHC several years ago.
we talking about the original civil war or the current one?

I was inquiring about 1850ish rifles.
My choise for the ,I'm fearful, soon to come troubles is one of many ar types.
The good news is the other side will be armed with hope and wishes. They will also be looking for a trigger free, safe zone.
I prefer the handguns.

They long to a friend of my wife's. The Friend found them wrapped in a Confederate uniform in her family home in Warrenton,VA just up the road from us. I'm going to get pictures tomorrow. Could be quite a find.
4 rifles and 1 revolver. Had to draw a picture of a black powder pistol to figure out what she had.
The way I draw it could be anything.
that Confederate uniform is interesting.
