reminded me of this. Very early in my marriage we had an apartment with open kitchen shelves. One time my wife was warming up sourdough starter from the fridge in a too warm oven, she took the starter out and had it on the counter and shortly after it blew the top off and sent chunks of dough flying all over. Years later when we moved, we took the dishes off the shelf and found globs of the dough plastered to the wall.
