take out a bunch of donkeys that were destroying the area. At first I wasn't really interested in shooting a little tame donkey, but the PH showed me one that was the size of a big mule. So I decided I could do that. I had brought my 475 GNR Encore with me and figured it would be good medicine for donkeys. The donkeys are smart. They bed down on top of large hills. The tops of the hills are pretty much flat so they can see danger coming from a long way off.
It took a couple of days scouting the area but I found where they had been bedding down at night and the next morning well before daylight I climbed up one of the big hills and when it started getting light the donkeys started getting up and moving around, The PH told me to look for the biggest donkey and it would probably be the lead mare. He said put her down and the others would probably just mill around, not knowing what to do without her leading them off.
I glassed the herd and saw a big white mare that was rousing all the others up. She would nip the slow ones in the ass if they weren't moving as fast as she thought they should. From about 60 yards I hit her with a 445 grain hard cast gas checked lead LBT bullet. She dropped like a rock and like the PH said the others started milling around, not knowing what to do next. I shot several more before they finally decided to leave the premises.
I really enjoyed that hunt. I don't think the camel hunt would be as much fun, more like a cull. But the donkey hunt was a good time and a chance to check out my 475 GNR.
When in China I ate pickled donkey; pretty good.

been back at it ever since. I have the use of one finger to type with. The rest is all covered with gauze and tape. That comes off on the 30th when the stitches are removed.
I wonder if you could

take an Encore or Contender in Australia as a carbine then switch grips to a pistol grip when you are in the outback? Just thinking out loud.
Is it really worth going to prison for?
