Any thoughts or input on the Taurus 44ss4, Tracker 44, and the 44 ss6? Anyone have any experince with any of these 3?
Like the feel of the tracker but the Model 44 seems to be a little beefier , like the thought of the 4 inch barrel to do double duty this winter as concealed with 44 specials and hunt with the 44 magnum.
Quality seems very good with all 3.

Not long ago, handled a new blue Tracker 44

...4 inch at the local Cal Ranch store. Liked the handy size also. This particular sample tho' was 'sandpapery' feeling inside and out... Action heavy and rough, outside surprisingly rough and a very shallow 'not so' blue... the way the last inch at the muzzle was done with the cuts and the 8 port-holes (non-rifled), made it appear to effectively be just a 3 inch barrel...
Wanted to like it, but not this sample!... companies need to care what goes out their door! It turned me off to ever looking at another one.

we sell a LOT of taurus revolvers. In all the years we have

carried the Taurus revolvers I don't remember having a "bad" one. They have the best warranty in the business and stand behind it. I have heard of a couple of "rough" Taurus revolvers in discount houses like Walmart, Cal Ranch, Sportsman's Warehouse and such but have never seen one myself. Sometimes I think the big box stores get "seconds" but I sure don't know that for a fact.

We had a S&W Model 96 recently that was rough, inside and out, and have had a lot of "rough" semi autos from big companies but I don't remember ever having a Taurus 44 that I considered less than it should be.

I have had several. The ss ones are

Best, I don’t like their bluing. I have had the 45 acp the ultralite 44 special and a steel 44 special in snubs plus a couple longer ones. . I think they are great. I don’t like the “riibber” grips but that is an easy fix...

Doug is right. Except for the little snubbie model 85 in 38

my favorite being a Tracker Total Titanium model 460, a 4" ported bbl in 45 Colt. Another fav is a 2" SS bobbed hammer snub in 44 Special. I would buy a Taurus any day of the week.

Thanks guys! May have to put one on layaway, now which one h

I've been thinking of getting a lightweight 45 Colt revolver, but have never had a Taurus and wasn't sure about getting one. Going to look for a Taurus 450 now.

Had a 41 mag 4 inch a few years back and sold it like a dumb shit. Super accurate, most accurate 41 I have ever owned. Trigger was smooth, light, no creep, felt recoil was minimal with the grips they use. Kick myself for selling it.
