can follow his advice if you like. But he is full of shit. All that oil just collects dust, sand and unburned powder and causes malfunctions. Your gas tube get fouled up and jams start.

For years I shot Auto Mags. They have the same type bolt as the AR with locking lugs. At first I oiled it a lot thinking it needed it. Then somehow common sense clicked in. I noticed a lot of built up gunk on the locking lugs and I was getting a lot of failure to go into battery, the same as an AR will. I started cleaning them off good and putting a tiny bit of a clear grease that Lee Jurras sent me and no more problems.

So do as you like. But I keep my ARs almost totally dry with a tiny bit of grease (never any oil) on the locking lugs.
