Spoke to Gary yesterday about another of my crazy gun projects. The Blackhawk 5-Shot 38-40 Gary built me has exceeded all hopes. Betting the G2 Carbine 38-40 will be just as impressive. So, I started thinking and that's not good.

Ruger is building Super Redhawks in 10mm Auto. I ordered one and plan on sending it to Gary for a new, tight fitting 6-Shot cylinder in 38-40.

Will be strong as an understatement. The same size cylinder as the 454 Casull and 480 Ruger. Barrel will remain at 7.5" and gun comes scope ready.

Curious what the other Misfits think about this?

"UNDAUNTED BY COMMON SENSE" ...

For a shootist who is an experimenter, there ain't too much that is really "crazy" ... especially among those like yourself who have an understanding of ballistics.

I appreciate that Jim...

Years ago an old friend told me the reason we work hard is to have the things we want.

It keeps GNR in jellybeans too.

Why would they make a Super in 10mm, that's what I would like to know. At the very least it needs to be bored to 10mm Magnum then you can shoot .40,10mm,10mm mag. Starline makes cases. No need to get bored with anything!

I do remember a long time ago with my old .38 WCF New Service. I found that six stuck cases are more of a challenge than one at a time as in the SA. LOL

Lots different with Gary's tight chambers and Starline Brass

I've loaded the 200s to 1450 fps with 2400 and 1600 fps with H110. Cases fall out of chambers and some have been loaded eleven times now.

Not crazy at all.

Matter of fact an 1894 Marlin in 38-40 will be added to my collection next (still saving)and I want a modern pistol to accompany it. Can't wait to see what you and Gary come up with.
