Got a bit more serious with it. The gun really liked Speer ammo keeping most groups around 1". Also, really disliked the Hornady flex tip stuff and groups opened up to 2.5".

Will try the Critical Defense stuff later. Maybe they will fair better.

Function of the gun was flawless as expected. I don't do so well with the sight combo. Will try other configurations as time allows.

What is the sight combo Huey?

From a 1" grid target. So, the aiming is my issue. I believe the gun to be a one incher once I get it sighted for me.

The 9mm and 38 Super Cylinders shoot practically to the same POI at 25 yards.

Haha. 9 times out of 10 the aiming is "my" issue too!

I rarely shoot groups. If I knock over pins or steel targets I'm happy!

Brownell’s has rear sight blades

Freedom Arms has front blades. The lowest bead sights from Gary or Freedom Arms is .280, the lowest blade is .230. I need a hundred yard zero for my “Coyote Classic”.

I have a box full of sights, both front and rear...

Groups on paper matter and useful in learning. But, as Chris said, it's real world use that matters.

I have several miles of wooded trails on my prperty. Will walk and pop some leaves, pine knots and other misc targets one day.

But that combo would probably work well for "trail" shooting

To reload 9mm, i can understand that, with inexpensive ammo available. However 90 gr XTP or Gold Dot with max charge of CFE Pistol is amazing in the 1911 platform, bet it would be flat shooting and fun in a Trail Gun. (and you don’t have to look for your brass)

I'm going to try some of the hyper velocity stuff...

Liberty Defense produces 2000+ fps in some guns. Will see how these do in a revolver.

Interesting. Not sure if this is related

but I shot some of the flex tip ammunition out of my 4570 Contender. It was lousy. The pattern looked more like grapeshot.

Back to the standard 350 grain Hornady handload. Nice tight, for me, 2-3 inches at 100 yards with a 2x Burris. Good for what I do with it.

What is the barrel length of that 9mm? Thanks

5 1/2"
