over something stupid. Thankfully he was OK. Spent a while with a drain tube, some antibiotics etc. It did not actually hit anything vital. The ballistics in reality would be interesting to know. 40 gr. jacketed bullet at maybe 800-1000 fps. I'd not want any. If it had hit an artery or organ things would have been different. I'm certain the lower velocity added to penetration.

I carry a little S&W M63 kit gun a lot on the farm. The 40 gr. heeled bullets run from 975-1050 fps. It's not as accurate as the Single-six, but so handy, and I like the Bianchi holster for it. Funny how odd things influence your carry gun sometimes. I do not feel "unarmed" with it on me. I do practice with it to 100 yds. and beyond for fun. Knowing what it will do has to be worth something. A 5 gal. bucket would be in real danger!
