Plenty of holes in that “light” receiver

And I see someone snagged a coat sleeve between the forend and recoiling barrel on the left. Classic hammered and split tang from shooting slugs in a bird gun. What is that machine screw in the receiver on the right?!

I'm not sure what is going on here at all but

I would love to know how many concussions that scope has caused

That is a standard Browning screw. There is

supposed to be a "keeper" screw sitting in that hole that keeps the larger screw from vibrating loose and out. The "keeper" screw has a half moon cut out in it so it can sit next to the larger screw and keep it tight in place. The missing screw looks to be part of the trigger group but to what extent I have no idea. That gun is just an accident waiting to happen.
I enjoy getting abused guns and bringing them back to life but I think that Browning is past the point of no return. And for sure it is not worth the $475 they are asking for it. Not even as a parts gun.
