get here in Flagstaff. Two years ago we got 9 feet of snow in 2 days. The year before that was the year the snow completely covered our house except for the chimneys. Fun Fun.
So far this year no snow at all.

Recipe for icy walks, supposed to work.

Lots of people say it woks, just a matter of how much dawn and alcohol. Same ingredients make a great cleaner for granite countertops.

Cat liter or oil dry gives a traction surface too.

Living where it does not snow gives better traction.

Both oil dry and cat liter are just clay. Cat liter has some chemical that makes it clump, but it's absorbent clay. Sand would also help on ice. Might even be the cheapest.

They also make these little clip on chains for your boots or shoes. Might keep you from busting it! Ice storms are a whole different thing!

We get a lot of “ice”, not snow or slush

You can’t do much on ice except crash/fall. It coats tree limbs and they fall on powerlines. Lines themselves get coated and fall. I’ve seen it look like a war zone, power out for a long time. Dig in. Stay put! Check in on neighbors.
