Somehow I failed to get my copy of John's small caliber

a chapter in the book. But that fell thru the cracks and no big deal and not worth calling and bothering John or Dot with "where is my copy?". Life's too short to worry about small stuff. Now these days (especially these days) I am glad I didn't call and bother either of them.
So just in case the supplies are low I called and ordered a copy yesterday.
If any of you don't have all of John's books now is the time to get them while you can. The company that sells them may not feel there is enough call for them to do another run of the various books. Doing a run is not cheap at all. Even my 2 Handgun Hunting books were a sizable chuck out of my wallet for several thousand copies. And one of the last things John badgered me about was to put out a third Handgun Hunting book. I told John, there is nothing left in my head. I am drained from the first 2 books. But he didn't like that answer. He said "write about Africa. You've been there a lot, write about that". So John, my friend, if you are looking down at me, I am thinking about it.

With the economy being what it is get John's books now while you can.

He got some of us going to the Y-O Ranch celebrity handgun hunt, a branch of specialty off of SCI. Despite good turnout it finally fizzled with political changes at the ranch and some economic industry faltering. But the Misfit crew was a notable influence and infiltrated the ranks well. What good friendships manifested from those good times.

The HHC events as well, no small effort. They have really taken off and of late seem to have a youth following. More and more young shooters are attending! I’m working on about half-dozen younger folks. I figure most will bail, but if half show! Gary, by nature, is a fantastic ambassador of handgunning. It goes beyond the Reeder Customs. What a legacy.
