You’ll really miss out! It has a little of everything. Autos, revolvers, .22 rifles, carbines…. And the varied perspectives of all the other contributors hand picked by Mr. Taffin, what an innovative concept. It’s the most value I’ve ever gotten in one publication. Gary’s article is great, so inclusive, but making you want more. Thankfully he did self publish two hunting books and at least two or three versions of his loading manuals. A rare value unto themselves. Get them while you can!

Boss, figure a way to digitize all these. They are certain to outlast us all. The future still needs you.

I haven't received mine yet so I can just guess as

to how gooder it is. As Scotty said a few of the Misfits made it to the Celebrity Handgun hunt. Actually almost every one of the 55 or so hunters invited to the hunt made it. And that was what made the hunt special. Every year the gun magazines would talk about it and mention that it was the best of the best handgun hunters that were invited and it was by invitation only.
To give it a bit more coverage my good friend Taz Ridley who ran the whole thing by himself was on the phone with me one afternoon 3 or 4 months before the next hunt and he was pissed. I asked him what the problem was. He said the hunt was a joke as all that showed up were there for the open bar (free booze) and to play poker every night and never bid on any of the goodies that were donated (Kase donated a custom 1911 and I donated a custom revolver)plus a lot of other companies like Freedom Arms, Remington, Federal, TC and a lot more donated prizes like guns, scopes, ammo and more and we would auction them off plus give special prizes to the hunter that brought in the most meat and other offerings. The hunt was a charity hunt and all the meat and some of the money went to the needy at Christmas. Each hunter was charged from $795 the first year or two and up to almost $2000 the last few years. I was there for 14 years and never missed a year.
Anyway Taz was bouncing off the walls. I asked him if I could help. He said sure, get some fresh blood in here. I told him to give me the list of people to invite and I would do so. I threw away his list as it was just a bunch of old guys not interested in spending a penny.I invited I think 35 of the Misfits, maybe a bit more and we packed the hunt for the next 3 or 4 hunts. And what a great hunt it was. I will post some pics of the hunts and hunters in a bit.
Like Scotty said politics got into SCI's panties and killed what could still be going on today. Another group from SCI (Safari Club) decided they wanted to have a Celebrity handgun hunt also and they had some big money people behind them so a fight got started. But politics killed it all.

Pleasing and fluid manner. It was not fragmented but all worked together great. Very informative on the handgun hunting evolution as well as Reeder Custom Guns. To end up at the birth of the Banshees. It was what 6-7 years ago we wrote those for Mr. Taffin?!

No matter, it’s timeless stuff.

I tend to meander a bit, and I don't even drink.
