Except for that father and son who decades later excavated an ancient .222 case with a curious dent in it. (Only a handful of folks even know the XP was first introduced in .222 as well as .221 FB) The guy making that death bed confession claimed to have bitten it and laid it on a fence.
It’s an interesting story. More so, and more believable than the 6.5 Carcano. I’ve owned one myself. Very utilitarian at best.
