getting the middle knuckle bashed on recoil, and the Magnum gave them 3/8" of space between the gripframe and the back of the trigger guard. Then the guys who didn't like their little finger hanging off needed something, so we came up with the Magnum XL which gave them a full inch longer gripframe and the problem was solved. So there are a lot of choices these days.
