Woody knows, he's being facetious. Globalization or the inability to compete on a World market killed Hodaka, as well as the environmental regs. They were all 2-strokes and could not compete with the big boys with literally billions of dollars in resources. The late 1970's killed about 75% of the motorcycle manufacturers world wide. The former employees and their children have a huge get together and festival every year in Oregon celebrating Hodaka motorcycles some 30 yrs. after the factory closed. That is telling in itself.

Not many folks in the US have ever heard of Beta, but they make some of the finest off-road bikes there are.

The gun industry has had some shake up the last couple decades. Being a custom maker isolates GNR to a large extend. Thank the Lord.
